SUSTAINABLE LIVING WAGES is not a slogan but a movement towards improving and maintaining the quality of life to which we Americans are accustomed This movement must include:
EDUCATION: improved k-12, free vocational/technical training, affordable, well subsidized higher education.
Education at every level in this in this great nation should be of the highest quality, affordable and accessible
FAIR TRADE: The greatest beneficiaries of free trade are the Corporations.
The reality is that most nations protect their industries and their workers,
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH PROTECTIONISM WHEN IT'S YOUR JOB THAT'S BEEING PROTECTED!
Only fair trade and proper regulation will protect us, the American worker, from the forced wage and benefits loss that comes with unbuffered competition with undeveloped nations. Fair trade will not only protect American workers, but the foriegn workers that free trade tends to exploit.
THERE IS NO PLACE FOR COMPLACENCY IN TODAYS WORLD.
On top of the many Federal issues we must stay in front of, there are
also many local issues that need our attention: our own slice of global warming at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach,
our County Hospital system, our freeway system, voting systems and voter apathy.
These and many other issues, are going to take a united front.
